The purpose of the healthcare system is to reduce illness, injury and disability, as well as improve the health of the people of the United States. However, quality problems—overuse, underuse and misuse—exist. These issues occur in large and small communities, in all parts of the country, and in both managed care and fee-for-service systems of care. As a result a large percentage of Americans do not receive adequate care.
Lakeside HealthCare (LHC) has been working to identify and implement improved systems for delivering and monitoring healthcare services. LHC is pleased to announce our new Performance Improvement Program (PIP). By working as a team with physicians and their office personnel, we intend to raise the quality of care afforded to our membership. The major components of PIP are the Pay for Performance Program (P4P), tracking patient services and satisfaction scores; utilizing the information technology of the Point of Care interface and patient satisfaction surveys.
Attached to this page are several documents to further introduce you to the Performance Improvement Program: an outline, a PowerPoint presentation, P4P manual, and links to other sites.
LHC tracks patient services through Intelligent Healthcare's Point of Care Internet-based patient information database. To access this database you will need a user id and password. Please call Lakeside’s Performance Management Specialist at 818 637-2000, ext. 1130. Once you have access you will be able to view and update your patient registries.
